Meridian, Idaho – April 16, 2024 –Team Depot, Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, built storage solutions for local victim services nonprofit Faces of Hope on Thursday, April 11.
The Home Depot Foundation donated nearly $5,000 worth of materials to Faces of Hope for this project, which completely redesigned three rooms at Faces of Hope’s new Meridian location.
Local Home Depot associates volunteered to design, construct all the materials, deliver, and install shelving. Team Depot worked to build and install wooden storage solutions that will greatly improve the nonprofit’s ability to accept and store the tangible items they distribute to victims of abuse.
Since 2011, Team Depot has volunteered more than 2 million hours of sweat equity to address the immediate needs within its neighborhoods. “It is always an honor to make a difference in the lives of others in our community with the support of The Home Depot Foundation,” said Alicia Eshbach-Ugalde, Operations Assistant Store Manager and Team Depot captain at Home Depot Store 1806. “It’s one way we live our core values. The work Faces of Hope does, to help those who are in crisis, falls right in line with Home Depot’s core value of Doing the Right Thing and made this project a perfect fit.”
A large part of the project was focused on redesigning Hope’s Closet, where Faces of Hope clients can “shop” for new clothing, shoes, diapers, hygiene items like shampoo and deodorant, safety items like pepper spray and video doorbells, and more.
Last year, 2,691 individuals and their dependents had access to Hope’s Closet, including 120 active-duty military and/or veterans. In 2024 so far, Faces of Hope has given out over 5,600 diapers to members of our community in need.
“This new construction will allow us to better organize the donations we receive from the community and streamline our ability to immediately fulfill the basic needs of the people in crisis who seek our assistance,” said Angela Lamb, Development Officer, Faces of Hope. “We are so grateful for the Home Depot team for investing in survivors.”
