Faces of Hope is honored to welcome Antwone Fisher as our keynote speaker for Faces of Courage 2027!
Antwone Fisher is a New York Times bestselling author, screenwriter, filmmaker, and inspirational speaker whose extraordinary life story is one of resilience, courage, and hope.
Born into difficult circumstances, Antwone experienced childhood abuse, neglect, and years in the foster care system. Despite the challenges he faced, he found the strength to reclaim his story and build a future defined not by his past, but by his determination to heal and move forward.
His remarkable journey inspired the major motion picture Antwone Fisher, starring Denzel Washington, bringing his powerful story of survival, healing, and self-discovery to audiences around the world.
At Faces of Courage 2027, Antwone will share his personal journey and remind us that abuse does not have to define a person's future. His story reflects the very heart of Faces of Hope: that every survivor deserves the opportunity to find safety, healing, and hope.

History of Faces of Courage
In 2026, Nichole and Jim Schmidt and Joseph and Tara Petito, the parents of Gabby Petito, shared their daughter’s heartbreaking story and their commitment to turning tragedy into meaningful change. Through their advocacy, the Petito family continues to raise awareness about domestic violence, strengthen protections for survivors, and inspire communities to recognize the warning signs of abuse.
Faces of Courage has featured some of the nation’s most powerful voices in survivor advocacy. In 2025, Katrina Brownlee shared her remarkable journey from surviving a near-fatal shooting to rising through the ranks of the NYPD and founding Young Ladies of Our Future.
In 2024, Drea Kelly moved more than 600 attendees with her account of surviving abuse during her marriage to R. Kelly. The year before, Maggie Nichols—“Athlete A” and the first gymnast to report Larry Nassar—delivered an unforgettable message of courage and accountability. In 2022, child abduction survivor and author Elizabeth Smart inspired the room with her story of resilience.
Each year, Faces of Courage raises critical funds that sustain Faces of Hope’s free, immediate crisis services for survivors across the Treasure Valley.
